When a baby is born at the end of the third trimester of pregnancy, the baby requires a lot of support to survive! They need nearly constant care and supervision for the first several months. The first 3 to 4 months after birth is a very intense period of caregiving. This time is referred to as the fourth trimester. This is a period of healing, tremendous growth, and also a time of transition. Mom and baby begin the process of becoming two distinct individuals.

I understand the challenges mothers face

I encountered many of these joys and challenges first hand in breastfeeding my three children. I experienced the tears and frustration, as well as the bonding and flourishing. My experience is what drove me to further educate myself about breastfeeding medicine. In my personal and professional life, I am dedicated in helping babies and mothers/parents thrive.

Breastfeeding is natural, but not always easy

All new mothers want to see their babies be healthy, grow and thrive. Having a baby is an incredible experience with lots of joyful moments as well as many challenges. Breastfeeding is an experience that is rewarding for mom and baby but can sometimes be challenging, painful, and overwhelming.
